Eugene Petit
He was born in 1839 at Paris and died in 1886 in France.
Petit was a painter of hunting and shooting subjects, scenes of genre, natural still life, and flowers and fruit.
Petit was a student of Edward Muller and Dieterle. He first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1863 and in 1873 received a Medal.
He almost always painted in oils and used them to maximum effect-creating depth by texture and using light colours. As well as a versatile artist he was also prolific and painted for the domestic market and private patronage.
Museums: Carcassonne, Compiegne, Courtrai, Rouen and Saint-Etienne
Many of his paintings have been sold in America, Paris and Great Britain.
